Understanding that the fume hood is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment in any laboratory. The presentation focuses awareness of key design elements and special precautions for safe operating procedures. ASHREA 110 testing protocol; as manufactured, as installed and whenever a change in the lab’s HVAC system will be discussed. Additionally, issues such as diagnoses of operating problems and issues, safety considerations and choosing the right hood for the right application will be addressed.
